OUTGROUP: New LGBTQ Youth Support Group

OutGroup’s purpose is to help LGBTQ+ youth safely explore their sense of identity alongside their peers in an open, supportive, and educational environment. This drop-in group is open to adolescents from 12-17 years of age who are interested in discussing and developing their sense of identity as it relates to gender, sexual orientation, attraction, and relationships. The group meets each Wednesday evening at 5 PM at the University of Tennessee Psychological Clinic. Interested individuals should call the UT Psychological Clinic at (865) 974-2161, and one of the group leaders will be in contact to provide more information.

The group is led by two graduate psychology students at the UT Psychological Clinic who work with children, adolescents, and adults who are developing their gender and sexual identities, particularly for whom resources to foster this exploration might be lacking in their community.
